Monday Mural #1

I'm trying new memes for inspiration while trying to do NaPoWriMo in April.

"Monday Mural will feature a picture/ artwork for you to lend your words (poem or story) each Monday".

I love this concept, and this particular piece of art is incredible, so I knew I had to jump on board.

This poem is a bit of a different piece for me, but I kind of like it.

Like wings
beating against the wind
frenzied movements
in their urge to take flight
her thoughts a whirl
her emotions chaotic
The flashes of light
calls for attention
"Over here, over here"
The endless barrage of questions
Like birds preying on roadkill
They move in, and peck,
peck away at her soul
"One more picture"
"Smile for the camera"
"Who are you dating"
"What are you wearing?"
Fame comes at you
with no instruction manual
but a hefty pricetag.

so true, only a certain few can survive fame

I'm glad you're inspire by this art work. I couldn't think of anything to write for it.

Celebrities today definitely have it harder than before because media has become a prominent giant. It's everywhere. Cell phones, Cameras, Internet, Magazines etc. I feel for them. You would have to be a strong person to endure that much attention. Your poem is great. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day.

Most celebrities are burnt out before they reach 30 years of age!

Great take..

Interesting - you focused on the eye and the struggle between the birds. I saw that too, but then wrote about a different aspect of the painting.

Very creative!
