Friday 5 - #1

Well I picked a doozie of a time to join Friday 5, didn't I? We're working with made-up words this week. Here's what I've come up with, and let me tell you, it took a completely different turn as I was writing it. This one most definitely had a mind (and heart) of its own:

Third World

Run circles around me
To and fro in a frenzy
A screy of emotion
Too sudden to grasp
A cack and a holler
A bit of laughter too
My mind spins and spirals
A mozzle nudges my leg
I bend down to examine
A glureon of faces
Eyes intently on mine
Expectant yet patient
What can I provide?
Standing upright again
I open my caprussule
Dig in, find some change
Dole out what I can
They thank me and scatter
On to the next foreigner they glom
We give what we can
We hope it's enough
But we know in our hearts
It's all wrong

Ah, there is truth tucked in with the wild words. A perfect piece!

How beautifully you've woven these made up words with a real life scenario. I agree. Sometimes giving those wandering hands some money isn't always the best of plans but, I would like to think it does help a child get by or feed a family in times of hunger. Have a nice day.

Now see that wasn't so bad. You did a very nice job.

Ditto what everyone else has said. You must be very talented, to make this poem speak from your heart while using made-up words.

Paisley, I want to believe that too. I think we try to anyway, right?

Tumblewords, thank you.

Michelle, Thanks. It's true, sometimes there is that duality of doing good even though we're not doing enough...it's a tough place to be, isn't it?

Lissa, Thanks! It turned out completely different from where it started, but then, that's poetry for you!

Christine, thank you very much. I think this piece may actually become one of my favorites, because it really did come from the heart, and took me completely by surprise.
